Welding Coordination Personnel
Welding Process Coordination Personnel [IIW, EWF] consists of 4 levels, which are categorized according to access conditions based on the educational background of the participant.

In addition, Welding Coordinator programs are provided according to the International Standards for Personnel Certification ISO /IEC 17024, Certified QA/QC Welding Coordinator:
- IWE. International Welding Engineer [IIW, EWF]
- IWT. International Welding Technologist [IIW, EWF]
- IWS. International Welding Specialist [IIW, EWF]
- IWP. International Welding Practitioner [IIW, EWF]
- IWE. International Welding Engineer [IIW, EWF]
International Welding Engineers (IWE) program, which is the highest level of Personnel Qualification, has a total duration of 448 training hours, theoretical and practical, which consists of the following modules:

International Welding Engineer (IWE) – Distance / Blended Learning Training
The International Welding Engineer (IWE) program is designed to equip professionals with advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies in welding coordination, in compliance with ISO 14731 and the IIW/EWF guidelines.
Course Overview
The program combines theoretical and practical training and includes:
- Module 1: Welding Processes and Equipment – 95 hours
- Module 2: Materials and Their Behavior During Welding – 115 hours
- Module 3: Construction and Design – 62 hours
- Module 4: Fabrication and Application Engineering – 116 hours
- Practice: 60 hours
Total duration: 448 training hours
The program is delivered through Distance | Blended Learning, which includes:
- Online training via the MOODLE platform
- Virtual Classrooms (interactive lessons via ZOOM)
Upon completion of the training modules, participants take written examinations per module and a final oral examination.
Training Schedule
The program is flexible, combining asynchronous learning (MOODLE), live online classes, and face-to-face practice:
- Distance Training – Part 1
- 94 hours, completed within 5 weeks
- Evaluation test (90 minutes)
- Distance Training – Part 3
- Section 1: 117 hours in 6 weeks + exam (120 minutes)
- Section 2: 34 hours in 2 weeks + exam (30 minutes)
- Virtual Classroom (ZOOM)
- 85 hours over 4 weeks
- In-Person Training (CWI Facilities)
- 118 hours, duration 15–20 days
- Examinations
- 4 written exams (90 multiple-choice questions each)
- Final oral examination
- Requirement: Average score ≥65% across written exams
Fees & Payments
Total training cost: €6,500
Payment schedule:
- €2,000 before receiving MOODLE access credentials
- €2,500 after completing Part 1 and before Part 3 Section 1
- €2,000 after completing Part 3 Section 2 and before virtual classrooms
Examination fees:
- CWI members: €300 per exam (5 in total)
- Non-members: €500 per exam
- Re-takes: Up to 2 per module at no additional cost
Annual CWI membership fee: €100
Certification & Career Prospects
Upon successful completion of the program and examinations, participants are awarded the International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma, recognized worldwide by the IIW.
This diploma fully satisfies the requirements of EN ISO 3834 and is a mandatory qualification under EN ISO 1090, which is part of national legislation.
Holders of the IWE diploma are authorized to sign studies, WPS, WPQR, and to coordinate welding operations in metal structures.

The educational structure of all levels is similar, and the courses are attended simultaneously for all participants regardless of access conditions. For International Welding Practitioners (IWP), more emphasis is placed on the practical training of manual processes.
