About Us
The Cyprus Welding Institute is an initiative established by Cypriot professionals and scientists. Individuals with extensive experience in the Cypriot industry and expertise in the field of welding, identified and recognized a fundamental need within the sector: the need for highly skilled and professionally trained personnel in welding and metal fabrication.
In June 2013, the non-profit civil company CWI – Cyprus Welding Institute was officially established, marking the culmination of significant effort and dedicated work that had begun in 2012. From the outset, the initiative was developed under the guidance and supervision of the experienced Welding Greek Institute.
Recognizing the importance of promoting international scientific developments in the field of welding, as well as securing global recognition for the country’s professionals, the Cyprus Welding Institute has submitted an application to become the official representative of Cyprus to the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and the European Welding Federation (EWF).
Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of the Cyprus Welding Institute is, on the one hand, to promote international and European developments in the field of welding, within Cypriot industry, and, secondly, to create opportunities for Cypriot scientists and technicians to receive training based on international standards and regulations in their own country. Thus, the Cyprus Welding Institute is introducing internationally recognized and accredited training programs to the Cypriot market, aiming to develop highly qualified professionals with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in welding technology and engineering.
